Observed on 25th April each year, Anzac Day honours the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought in wars to defend our country and way of life.
On the 31st March 2015, 15 Senior Councillors of the Student Representative Council, along with Mrs. Antoniadis were invited to participate in the Kingsgrove RSL’s Anzac Day for Schools Ceremony. The two captains, Nancy Do and Joumana Ghazzaoui participated as speakers. Joumana spoke about Anzac Day and Nancy recited the Ode. A number of primary and secondary students from nearby schools were also involved. We felt that our participation was vital to helping keep the Anzac spirit alive. Anastasia Tellis and Ghina Hamade were given the opportunity to lay the wreath at the cenotaph, symbolic of gratitude and respect to men and women who served in all our armed and nursing services. We were privileged to be a part of such a special service and we look forward to our school activities week 1 next term, commemorating the 100th Year Anniversary of Anzac Day.
